Baby Girl Nursery

Please allow me to introduce you to the only room in the house that is NOT blue. When we found out we were having a girl, I had to mentally prepare myself for a change in color palette. Don’t get me wrong, it was not very hard, because I was super excited that we were having a girl! I’ve just never had pink walls, even as a kid I wanted blue or blueish-purple, definitely not pink. My mom convinced me to try an accent wall, and I felt like this was a good way to “girl up” the room, without feeling like you walked inside a bottle of Pepto Bismol. I bought the bedding I wanted and took it with me to Sherwin Williams because I had a very specific pink in mind. I wanted something that was more like a blush, and far away from bubble gum as possible. Surprise, surprise, I chose to make the other 3 walls gray, Rock Candy to be exact (also in many other rooms of my house).

We bought our nursery furniture from Pottery Barn Kids, the crib is from the Larkin collection in white. Her bedding is also from PBK. The curtains and mobile are from Target. {We ended up moving the mobile to the other side in order to install our baby monitor camera on that wall.} I made the “Faith” and “Hope” vinyl lettering and put them in gold floating frames, to match/compliment the Love artwork that I found at Hobby Lobby. I hand painted the canvas with watercolor, and made the vinyl lettering for the “With Grace in Her Heart and Flowers in Her Hair” sign.

This is one of the Larkin Dressers, along with some more decor that I made by hand-painting and hand-assembling flowers with watercolor paper, watercolors, and a gold metallic paint. I hand lettered the “Isn’t she lovely” and used the same gold metallic paint.

This is the changing table from the PBK Larkin Collection (on the extra wide dresser). The middle sign is from Hobby Lobby, and I made the two on either side with vinyl lettering and floating frames from Michaels.

The bookcase is also from Pottery Barn Kids “Madison Bookrack” and the chair is made by IMG. It is a glider and power recliner, and the most comfortable thing I’ve ever sat on!

nursery754I am obsessed with this artwork from Hobby Lobby!

This is a little nook that I created, knowing she won’t be able to play in it for a while, but I just HAD to when my mom bought this beautiful pink sparkly tulle drape from A.C. Moore! I made the play mat myself, sewing the gold leopard print fabric to some minky-dot fleece fabric, with a few layers of fleece and batting in between!

You can see the most beautiful play mat here, called Feather, from Little Nomad! It is a foam puzzle-piece mat that assembles into one big piece that looks like a gorgeous rug!

Below is an up-close shot!

Last, but NOT least, here is the sign that my mom and I made with her name! I painted the large circular piece of wood the same color as the accent wall, attached two hooks on the back, and glued an assortment of flowers that I bought from Michaels.

Then I created a stencil on my Silhouette Cameo, and my super talented mom cut her first name and middle name out of wood on her scroll saw, and painted them gold! I glued them on (I do not recommend gorilla glue, it oozed too much around the edges, which was super frustrating, and hot glue would have worked just as well, so I ended up using that on one of the names).
