One of the most fantastic parts of buying a new home is getting to know it throughout the first year you are in it. We bought it at the end of the summer so we did not get to see the yard in all it’s glory. Now that Spring has officially sprung, we have seen every tree and bush filled with buds and flowers. I am enjoying the beautiful pink and purple azaleas that line our home immensely. Bushes that we once thought might have to go are now our favorite parts of the yard.
Cherry trees have always been my most favorite trees. When they blossom they are breathtaking and bring so much life to the yard. We have a gigantic one in our front yard and I was so excited to see it bloom. I might be one of the few people who also loves them when they start to lose their petals. It’s like someone spilled pink sprinkles all over the yard! Green grass is great and all but its so much prettier with pink poka-dots all over it 😛
I don’t know about you but springtime inspires me to want to throw bright pops of color all over the place. You don’t even have to do it in large amounts. Small accent pieces will add just enough to your home without you having to re-decorate entirely. I found this adorable throw pillow at target for $5 and it turned the chair from summery to springy instantly!
I am allergic to flowers so they are usually fake if you find them inside my house. I love vases of all colors and have them all over. Fake flowers somehow make them look happier and more useful than just empty vases, especially daisies. They also don’t require any work! Win for the allergy-having, color-loving homeowners everywhere 😀
Teal and Navy gerbera daisies in a Yellow Vase from Crate & Barrel are the first thing you see when you walk in the foyer..
We have fake flowers on our night stand in the champagne bottle from our engagement dinner.
The guest room houses a pink and purple daisy cluster that is welcoming and fun.
It’s Springtime, so go crazy with the pinks, oranges, yellows, and purples. Make the inside of your home just as bright and cheery as the outside!
P.S. My hubby is working super hard on our grass. When we moved in it was ALLLL weeds, and it’s a work in progress just like the inside has been!!! You da best Babe!
